Situated midway between the Panam and the Mahi rivers, this tiny village of Umriya is surrounded by water.  But in the absence of irrigation canals, water is hard to come be.  Farmers rely primarily on ground water to irrigate their farms.  Maniyabhai Rambhai a forward thinking farmer decided that a solar pump would be ideal to pump ground water and has now owned a 5HP Rotosol Solar pump for over 2 years.  The crop that now stands is a testament of the success of solar pumps in irrigation.
