Sita Saran from Manakpur, Gonda is a successful farmer but has been using a diesel operated pump to irrigate his farm.  With water available just below the surface, irrigation is easy.  However, a reliable mode of irrigation wasn’t.  With the solar pump, irrigation is not only reliable but also cheap.  With the diesel pump now retired, it sits in the shade of the PV array at his farm.
