One of the leading states in India that has adpoted solar pumping for community drinking water is Odisha.  Installing a solar pump along with a hand pump ensures 24 hour water supply to the local community.

A 5000 liter overhead water tank stores water using a solar pump.  With a level sensor installed at the tank end, there is never a shortage of water.  Shown here are two such sites.  One at Kaptamunda and the other at Jadabandh.  Both in the Sundargarh district of Odisha.
