The village of Tentuli Pada in the Kalahandi of Odisha enjoys 24 hour drinking water thanks to the government initiative of installing solar pumps to provide a quick and efficient way of storing and dispensing water.<\/p>\n
Under this project, solar pumps are installed along with hand pumps in a dual pump system.\u00a0 During the day, water is pumped and stored in an overhead tank.\u00a0 Being an automated system, the overhead tank remain to full capacity all through out the day.<\/p>\n
During night hours, the stored water is being used by the community for drinking, cooking and cleaning purposes.<\/p>\n
